Dear Chautauquans:

The Chautauqua Network proudly looks forward to its 25th year and its annual meeting in Monteagle, TN.. Yes, if you look at the date of our mission statement on this Web site, we are "officially" entering our tenth year. However, we've been gathering, informally at times, for 24 years. We had our start thanks to Alfreda Irwin and her tireless efforts.
The annual meeting has been set for this year:

• 2008 (Monteagle, TN)

We decided to hold our annual meetings during the Thursday to Sunday weekend that contains the last Saturday in July. However, this year is an exception because Monteagle's By-Laws require the Annual Meeting to occure that weekend. Therefore, for this year only, the Chautauqua Network will be meeting July 17- 20 In addition, we have found that homestays are the overwhelming favorite way to meet and mingle with other members. However, there are hotels and B&Bs available for those who prefer those accommodations. Presently, the cost is $125 per person to register and to attend all meetings and sponsored functions at our annual meeting.

I thank you for the continued trust you have placed in re-electing me as President along with re-electing George McCormick (Lakeside, OH) as Vice President, and electing Myra Peterson ( Chautauqua Institution) as Secretary and Treasurer.

The Network has made a commitment to seek out other Chautauquas throughout the nation and to invite them to join us. Please send any contacts to me (436 W.
