Bird, Tree & Garden Club / What We Do

We worked for and helped finance the restoration of the South Ravine and the creation of the outdoor classrooms and trails. We provide the services of a forester who cares for all newly planted trees. We conceived and urged passage of the regulation that places responsibility for the replacement of trees lost because of construction. We recently bought a new sound system for Smith Wilkes Hall.

Working together.

We sponsor Little Journeys to the Homes of Chautauquans, a biennial house tour that brings many visitors for the first time and helps support our activities. Other projects we undertake are the Mushroom Sandwich Sale and Chautauqua in Bloom, an occasion to recognize private gardens. Many committees and an active board carry out our work.
